Janet Tod's web site, which contains many examples of her vividly colourful Still Life paintings.

Brother Stuart Douglas's production company web-site. You can see examples of his televisual advertising genius here. He's also just taken over the Arena Essex Speedway team - let's hope his star riders don't suffer from the fate of the rider in the Kursaal's epic song.

Brother Andrew Douglas's site has had a much-needed update. Still a selection of fine photographic work, but much more about his current projects. Neither he nor my other brother Stuart's web masters will give me a reciprocal web link, though! What a bunch of tossers!

Although this is the official Kursaal's web site,it doesn't do much other than to give a valid discography of the band. According to the site, the story of the Kursaals seems to be the story of Will Birch.
A once great band has been reduced to a bunch of reasonably-talented pub rockers fronted by the one true star - Barrie Masters. Still worth a fiver if they come to your town but expect a lot of filler amongst the classics.
I've been to see Ben Waters play quite a few times over the past couple of years - he is incredibly modest and also incredibly talented. Maybe I'll do a few shows with him in the New Year.
Mickey has always been his own worst enemy in that he doesn't suffer fools (now where have I heard that one before?). I have a lot of time for him - he has a great voice and writes R&B like it used to be, before shiny divas and blinged biffos took the rhythm and the blues out of the music.
R&B is a style of music that has been bastardized - Wilko plays the original type of driving R&B with a unique guitar style and writes a good song. Anyone who wanted to see the best part of the original Dr. Feelgood should check him, and his band, out.
Paul was always a talented bass player and came up with some highly-inventive playing in the Hot Rods, which created a demand for his services post-HRs. He suffers from tinnitus, which has forced him to give up the live stage - might the reason be the incredible volume with which he insisted on inflicting on the rest of us? Notwithstanding that, I wish him well.
John Otway has achieved one of his main ambitions to be regarded as more than a one-hit wonder. He did so with the single “Let me be your bunsen burner” and removed himself from that list for all time. The Kursaals' still feature in it, though!
Will Birch and I have a love-hate relationship. He loves me - I hate him! Only joking, but there was a time during the death throes of the Kursaals where I would, cheerfully, have strangled him. Some of my best songs (and arrangements, but that is an entirely different kettle of fish) are graced by WB lyrics - some of his songs that became part of his post-Kursaal repertoire bear a striking resemblance to songs that I had written for the Hot Rods, but who's counting after all this time.
The Hamsters, fronted by Barry Martin, ex-Eddie and the Blizzards and Kursaals, is another Sarfend Blues/Rock band. Playing mostly Hendrix and ZZ Top covers, together with a few originals, they possess the repertoire to play two to three sets a night, so they're well-worth a look if they come to your town. It's been a while since I caught a set from them - I must remedy that in the near future.
Pete Thomas is a fine saxophonist and Logic User. His pages are a good source of tips and tricks to use in Logic.
Huw Gower and I met briefly in the ill-fated Red Bats, after he had played in the Records with Will Birch. We didn't spend much time collaborating but he was, and is, a fine guitarist. He, currently, lives and works in New York State, or so I believe.
